PCB to take up IPL snub with BCCI

The Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) accused IPL commissioner Lalit Modi of betraying the PCB after nine of its players were bought in the auction of IPL 3 and is planning to take up the issue with the BCCI. Apparently the reason the franchisees had given for not buying the Pakistani players was that there would be problems for getting visas for them.

Eijaz Butt, the PCB chairman said that Lalit Modi had assured him that all the Pakistani players would be given chance to play in the tournament. Well, they would have been given chance to play in the tournament if they had got any buyers. Now tell me Mr.Butt how is it Lalit Modi's fault if your players are not purchased in the IPL auction????

And also after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks you had deemed it unsafe for your players to play in India. Well none of the other players from other countries had that problem. The IPL was shifted to South Africa because its timing coincided with the 2009 General Elections. So why did you even bother to enter your players for the IPL this time round??Your players are much safer in India than in your own country.

So Mr.Butt, I tell you this:All the best for next time.

Perhaps Butt should try some marketing tactics - offer two players for the price of one, or a package deal, like buy two fast bowlers, and get a medium pacer free! Hurry till stocks last!!
